Sometime last year I asked at an alterations place for any offcuts they had. I went through the bags they gave me and unearthed a heck of a lot of denim. After trimming off the bits I couldnt use (and letting it sit for 6 months so it was an appropriate UFO) I finally sewed it all together and thats what I ended up with.
It is not going to be padded but am still undecided about backing it because it is to be donated and is already quite heavy and I like the denim look on both sides.

FNSI to do WIP for OPAM
Were you able to decipher my alphabet soup?
Last week I did the Friday Night Sew In but didn't get anywhere near as much done as I wanted to because a friend came by and we were catching up. Typically I would have finished more things on the Saturday but of course I spent the whole day in Sydney so I missed out.
This weekend however I have no plans til church Sunday night. I have some wool projects I need to finish and two groups in need of scarves, beanies, blankets and other winter woolies. So guess what I'm doing this weekend?????????
The WIP list goes like this:
- I have panels ready to stitch together for a lap rug (butterfly loom)
- I need to make a 4th panel for a different rug then stitch that too. (crochet)
- I have a baby bootie....just the one. Unless the recipient is an amputee I need to replicate it.(crochet)
- I trimmed a pile of denim offcuts last night for a tough blanket (machine sew)
- I still haven't finished wrapping my welcome mat.( hand stitch)
- I believe I have a scarf in progress on size 7 needles. which is why its a WIP I hate small needles. (knitting)
The new project list
- big needle scarves (knitting)
- circular needle beanies (knitting)
- I need to find/remember the crochet pattern I devised a few years ago. (crochet)
- panel scarves (crochet)
- I want to give fingerless gloves/arm warmers a shot too.
Phew! Man that's some list. And its only wool projects. And of course being the stasher I am, I actually do have the wool for these projects.
On the plus side, my FNSI do-over will hopefully mean less WIP as well as stashbusting and making OPAM list a little longer.

Quilt kit. Etsy update
These are the pieces I cut earlier this evening to make a crib/lap rug (or matching pairs playmat). It will (eventually) end up on my Etsy store as a kit including the front pieces and jelly strips for the binding.
I AM determined to get my act together when it comes to my Etsy store. Post a link on my sidebar here and advertise better. Not to mention actually listing items instead of adding them to my to-do list.

Join the dots
Apologies for not posting my FNSI results yesterday but my beautiful nephew had his first birthday yesterday and I was in Sydney all day.
My Friday night consisted of playing Dot to Dot with hexagons. I want to start stitching my top to its bottom but I need to make sure its all lined up properly.

FNSI and crossing things off my list.
This is what I've have been up to the last few days. A stash-buster rug for my Vinnies collection and a personalised cushion for my sisters birthday to match the quilt I made her for Christmas. And of course with the left over pieces I managed to put together a little bag for her to use.
I also finished the skirt I cut the other day.
So my list for Friday Night Sew In includes the remaining things on the list from my last post as well as working on my hexi quilt.
I apologise for the briefness and the lateness of this post but my internet is having issues and randomly disconnecting itself.
Will post pics on Sunday.

while I am aware it is already wednesday, I've had this list going in my head for a few days.
- Cushion cover for my sister's birthday to match her christmas quilt - to be done for sunday
- Destash lap rug for vinnies. I'm knitting a lap rug with size 20 needles which requires a lot of wool.
- altering some skirts
- work out how to sew with elastic on my machine so i know how to ruffle once and for all!!
- finish sewing/wrapping for my welcome mat
these are the plans, i would like to have them all done by the end of the week. i dont know how much will get done today though, i have a friend coming over who needs my help with his guitar playing. should be..interesting

Woot I can actually blog again!!!!!!
So blogger was being temperamental last week and wouldnt let me actually put text in my last post. sad.
I dont know what you got from the picture but its going to be a braided welcome mat. I need one for my house given its been raining a bit lately and I've been wanting to try that technique for a while. Will upload a pic and details when its finished.
other than that little project, ive been working on crochet squares for a blanket.and trying to plan my next project for when i sit back down at my sewing machine. it has its own spot set up but i havent really used it in a couple of months. only for some altering of clothes. maybe I'll pull out the denim patches i have set aside and finally put them together.
Ho hum. curse uni for taking all my time and energy. only a couple more weeks then I will be on break for several weeks and able to craft to my hearts content.
